The Heritage Audio 6673 80 Series microphone preamp/EQ combines the best parts of two vintage Neve preamplifier modules. You get that epic tone and punch you'd expect from a vintage console, plus a powerful 4-band EQ section with incredible tone-shaping potential. Like all Heritage Audio products, the 6673 is built with the same components and construction as the original modules - this isn't a copy of a vintage preamp, it's the real deal. Engineers in the '70s would probably agree that both the Neve 1066 and its successor, the 1073, sound huge, punchy, and vibrant. But these two modules had slightly different EQs with slightly different characters. Heritage Audio has basically taken the 3-band EQ from the 1073 and added the midband EQ from the 1066 as another band, so now you don't have to choose between cutting or boosting to shape your midrange frequencies.

Tracking through the Heritage Audio 6673 preamp/EQ module is about as close as you'll get to the sound of a vintage Neve console without losing your mind to the maintenance and upkeep of a real console. And it's a workhorse of a preamp, too - you get up to 80dB of Class A gain, a switchable highpass filter, phase reverse, and of course that glorious 4-band EQ.
